The Allen community has high expectations for its schools and the Allen Independent School District is proud to meet and exceed those expectations. Seven of the school district's eighteen schools earned Exemplary ratings from the Texas Education Agency in 2005. In addition, Allen High School was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2005 and was named as a 2004 Texas Pathfinder School.

Located approximately 25 miles northeast of Dallas, Allen ISD serves 16,500 students at 12 elementary schools, three middle schools, one freshman center, and one high school.

The school district offers a varied and challenging curriculum to meet the needs of our students. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program and 22 advanced placement courses provide the academic rigor needed by Allen High School's college bound students. Experienced teachers and a strong curriculum helped Allen students achieve a 97% in reading, 91% in math, 97% in social studies and 98% in writing on the 2005 TAAS exam.

A reputation for modern facilities, academic achievement and a supportive community have also helped Allen ISD become one of the fastest growing districts in the Metroplex.

El Dorado is in the middle of the fastest growing suburban community in El Paso. It is surrounded by modestly to high-priced homes. Private and commercial properties (strip malls, banks, a hospital, Wal-Greens, etc.) have been or are quickly being developed within walking distances of the school. The nearby freeway, LOOP 375, connects our students to UTEP, Ft. Bliss, Texas Tech Medical School, historical sites and Mexico which influence our cuisine, traditions, language, holidays, and politics.

Ranchview High School is the newest high school in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. Built in 2002, Ranchview serves 750 students from families who live in four cities: Irving, Coppell, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch. Although small in number, we are comprehensive in the scope of the academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities that we can offer our students. Ranchview plans to become an authorized IB Diploma Programme school in the fall of 2008. As of the fall of 2007, Ranchview High School and Barbara Bush Middle School have applied for Middle Years Programme authorization as partnership campuses; additionally, the district also has two elementary campuses (Good and Las Colinas Elementaries) who are candidate schools for the Primary Years Programme. Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD's plan is to offer students a continuous K-12 IB education.

Wilson is a 5th/6th grade campus in the Aldine Independent School District. The teachers at Wilson strive for excellence in academics both in meeting the state testing requirements and in providing an inquiry-based curriculum. While the marriage of these two concepts can sometimes lead to uncomfortable bedfellows, our teachers do an admirable job of balancing requirements. The students at Wilson love the International Baccalaureate program and make every effort to develop the qualities in the learner profile.
